Ethan is Route 06’s default Survivalist—the survivor every new player receives before visiting Denis’s shop. His kit focuses on self-sufficiency rather than team stuns or healing, placing him in B-tier on our Tier List as a teaching pick you outgrow once tokens unlock Clayton, Stella, or William.

Role and kit overview

Survivalists excel when abilities buff the individual player. Ethan fits solo learning and driver-flex slots in beginner five-stacks. He does not stun Plague like Frontliners or Backliners, nor heal like Stella—his value is forgiving early runs while you learn checkpoint rhythm, coin economy, and night cycles.

Route 06 warns in its Roblox description that the game is alpha with unpolished systems. Ethan is the safe onboarding character while those systems shift.

Starter survivor advantages

Ethan costs zero tokens because you already own him. That matters when:

1. Learning C4RL checkpoints — selling loot, buying gas, activating green buttons
2. Understanding Plague timing — first night after checkpoint one without risking premium unlocks
3. Practicing generator counts — 2 generators solo, scaling up with party size at the military outpost
4. Earning first tokens — ~1 per 20 meters and per kill, plus ~50 escape bonus

Use Ethan’s runs to bank tokens for Clayton or Stella before chasing Shiryo’s 1250-token price.

Self-focused passives and solo play

Route 06 supports 1–5 players. Solo lobbies face harsher Plague rotations because aggro cannot be passed easily. Ethan’s Survivalist tag means his passives help him stay alive without requiring coordinated team abilities.

Solo tips with Ethan:

• Prioritize Witches Brew and bandages at vending machines when coins allow
• Walk to regenerate stamina before Plague audio cues
• Do not hero-charge like William—Ethan lacks that Frontliner tool
• Accept that solo outpost last stands are learning experiences, not token farms

Duos should pair Ethan with Clayton or Stella rather than double Survivalist (Shiryo + Ethan without support fails Plague nights).

When to replace Ethan

Replace Ethan once you understand:

• Night vs day pacing — when to loot vs when to drive
• Coin budgeting — especially if running Kimberly in the lobby later
• Plague stun priority — why Marcus’s 80 stamina hurts despite charge

First token purchases for most players:

1. Clayton (Plague stun + stamina) or Stella (Floral Essence sustain)
2. Kimberly (Flashbang utility)
3. William (Frontliner stun upgrade over Marcus)
4. Shiryo last for speed comps

Ethan becomes a driver flex in Best Teams balanced comps until someone unlocks Shiryo.

• Buying Marcus before William because both are Frontliners
• Ignoring checkpoint sells that fund Kimberly coins later

Progression checklist

Before retiring Ethan as your main:

1. Reach first checkpoint consistently
2. Survive at least one Plague night rotation
3. Complete a generator phase at the outpost
4. Escape once for the ~50 token bonus
5. Spend tokens on Clayton or Stella
