Route 06 Roblox Route 06 Controls

Movement, driving, combat, inventory, and Plague escape inputs.

Controls & Keybinds

Route 06 hides most inputs behind standard Roblox defaults plus a few survival-specific interactions — trunk storage, C4RL shop plates, vehicle seats, and the Q + E mash that breaks Plague grabs. OutLaik’s alpha build does not ship an in-game rebind menu for every action, so learn the baseline controls here before your first night after checkpoint one. Pair this page with Getting Started for context on when each input matters.

Controls below reflect PC keyboard + mouse; mobile and controller map the same actions to on-screen buttons and triggers. Open Roblox settings to adjust sensitivity if aiming feels sluggish during Sprinter rushes.

Movement and stamina

  • W A S D — move on foot
  • Shift (hold) — sprint; drains stamina bar
  • Space — jump; useful for vaulting low obstacles at structure POIs
  • C or Ctrl (platform dependent) — crouch; minor stealth at night, not reliable versus Plague

Stamina governs both sprinting and panic escapes. Empty stamina means Plague and Sprinters catch you. Stop sprinting early when you hear Plague audio cues — details in Survive Plague.

Camera and interaction

  • Mouse — look
  • E or Click — interact with doors, loot prompts, shop terminals, generator levers, puzzle objects
  • Tab or Inventory key — open inventory; drag items to hotbar slots

Always interact with C4RL shop terminals facing the counter so sales register before the 90-second gate closes. See Checkpoints & C4RL.

Driving

  • F or proximity prompt — enter / exit vehicle seats
  • Driver seat — starts engine when occupied
  • W / S — accelerate / reverse
  • A / D — steer; high speed damages the car on impacts
  • Handbrake key (if bound) — tight turns; overuse slows the convoy

The car stores items in the trunk — interact from rear prompt. Driver crashes into walls ragdoll the driver briefly and deal damage (~15 in current builds). Keep the driver focused on road zombies while passengers shoot. Max speed sits around 120 in community testing; engine smoke means you need fuel from C4RL or loot.

Combat

  • Left click — melee swing or fire ranged weapon depending on equipped item
  • R — reload firearms when ammo magazines exist
  • Number keys / hotbar — swap weapons, healing, throwables
  • Right click — aim down sights on supported guns; improves accuracy at cost of movement speed

Melee saves ammo on Regular zombies; switch to guns for Boomers (explosion risk up close) and Chargers (interrupt rush). Full weapon notes: Weapons & Items.

Trunk and loot flow

  1. Hold interact on trunk latch
  2. Transfer valuables and bulky items from inventory to trunk slots
  3. At C4RL, sell from inventory or withdraw trunk stock before shopping

Efficient loot teams fill trunk during structure clears so one player sells in bulk at checkpoints without dropping items mid-combat.

C4RL checkpoint plates

  • Green Ready Up plate — stand on it to vote start; all players required for early departure
  • Car teleport button — pulls vehicle to checkpoint for Coin fee scaling with distance
  • Vending machines — interact, spend Coins for Bloxy Cola or Witches Brew

Mis-clicking teleport drains shared Coins — call it out in co-op voice comms.

Plague escape (critical)

When Plague grabs you at night:

  • Mash Q and E alternately (or on-screen prompts on mobile)
  • Teammates can interrupt with melee hits to free you faster
  • Keep stamina before night segments so you can still break free if grabbed at low health

Plague is unkillable — do not waste ammo. Controls for escape are mandatory knowledge after the first checkpoint.

Communication and codes

  • Enter — open chat
  • /redeemcode CODE — redeem promo codes; same as envelope UI on Codes

Redeem in lobby when possible so chat does not block combat inputs mid-run.

Mobile and controller notes

Mobile uses virtual joystick + tap interact; driving uses dedicated pedal buttons. Controller players should map interact and reload to comfortable bumpers — Plague QTEs require fast alternation. Lower graphics if frame drops cause missed inputs during outpost waves.

Practice drill (5 minutes)

In a safe lobby or first structure:

  1. Sprint until stamina empties, recover timing
  2. Enter driver seat, drive 100 m, open trunk
  3. Swap melee to gun on hotbar, reload
  4. Spam Q/E on a practice prompt if available, or rehearse mentally

Repeat until muscle memory sticks — alpha nights forgive almost nothing.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How do I escape Plague grabs?

Alternate Q and E rapidly until the grab breaks. Teammates hitting Plague can free you sooner.

Which key starts the car?

Sit in the driver seat — the engine starts automatically when the driver slot is filled.

How do I open the trunk?

Use the interact prompt at the rear of the vehicle, then move items between inventory and trunk UI.

Can I rebind keys in Route 06?

Use Roblox client bindings for movement and camera. In-experience rebinds are limited in alpha.
